On the 9th June 1928, Sir Charles Kingsford Smith crossed land at Ballina and turned north over this property Summerland House, to head towards Brisbane. This ‘turning point' became the basis for our name, not only because of the historic Kingsford-Smith flight, but because of the ‘turning point' our people go through as they achieve their goals and find success by making the most of their abilities.
